Hello Room 18.You’ve raised some very interesting points here. What is beauty - is it just what someone looks like, or is there more to it than that? As Kate said, it also raises the idea of truth and whether we can always believe what we see.

I’m Nadine from the 08Allstars! I really thibk that the lady’s transformance is extraordinary!! She probably used to have face problems, but after a surgery she’s gotten better? Her transformation is so amazing!! Wow. Where did you get this information from? The message is quite clear in this case. It tells you that you shouldn’t give up on yourself if you think you don’t look pretty. You should always be persistent until you find what you want. Basically, we’ve got to strive hard to get what you want!!

The beauty industry is a very interesting industry. It relies so heavily on advertising, but if this footage is anything to go by, one could assume that a lot of the advertising is false.

Isn’t false advertising illegal??

Also isn’t it a pity that we look at advertising to tell us what is beautiful, rather than what we find beautiful.

I wonder how she felt after having her physical features altered so much? Good? Bad? Indifferent? How do you think you would feel?

I think that it is wrong to change peoples look for anything because the person who got changed might think they are too ugly too be on a show and people looking at it might think he/she is ugly

I think Gilbert raised a good point about how people might think that the dove company had used products on the ladies who go on the ads but their wrong its all computer manipulation.
What do they mean when they say it works ? When they havn`t even tested it and claim to say it works . Have they tested it really?
I think NOT ,its all in for the money , but what about the people who watch the ad and think its true they`re actually purchasing a faulty product . What do you think????

I agree with felix because when they put the makeup on they might not look like the boy or the girl on the t.v. or on the poster and it might hurt there feelings

i think it might hurt peoples feelings because when they look at the billboard they think they will end up looking like that but when they find out it doesnt work it might effect thier emotional life them thinking they are going to look like the lady on the billboard but may even turn out worse!
