Hi Room 18! Welcome to our class blog space for 2008.
This will be your first posting area and you will use this as a place to introduce yourselves. You have all read the class blogging rules and understand that our thoughts, ideas and information are available to be read from anywhere in our world.
So, now it is time to write a brief introduction about yourself. Include these things:
- Your first name, and your year level.
- Some family information - for example who you live with - no names please.
- You may wish to name the area you live in. For example - Mt Albert, Sandringham, Mt Eden, Balmoral.
- If you have links to other countries tell us about them. Maybe you have lived in other countries?
- Some of your interests.
- Set yourself some big goals for 2008 - they can be class related, sport related or even outside of school. What is it that you really want to achieve this year? We can look at these and time line them!
I am really looking forward to our blogging journey and can’t wait to read your comments.

Thanks for posting on here Louisa. Your comments here will always be welcome and I do hope that you can offer some of your great contributions as you did in Room 29. Imagine being the first one to post even though you have moved into intermediate. Awesome!! Yes - I am not going to delete the other one, but I imagine posting there will cease sometime - the work Room 29 did there is inspiring and I am really proud of what everyone wrote there - I still like to show it off to other people that don’t know about blogging and it’s benefits to children’s thinking.
Thanks for posting Gilbert and I look forward to checking out your book series. Bring it into school to share sometime. I am keen to read it and I am sure the class would love to hear about it.

We are beginning to set up our individual pages (click on the word Navigators on the right to see a list of our names and then click on the name to take you to their page) . Hi i’m ashley
i’m year 5. I live in mt eden with my mum, my dad, my brother, my sister and cat.
I enjoy all sports incuding swimming soccer netball cricket gym atheletics
filppa ball and karate. In karate i am blue belt At the moment i only do swimming
karate atheletics and filppa ball. In the winter i will do netball.
my goals are to be less talktive and grade to yellow belt for karate.

I,m camille & I am a year 6 I live with my brother & mum
I have a dog & 2 cats I am a full new zealander because as far as I know , no-one in my family is not from new zealand except from all the great grandparents that first came to New Zealand ages ago.
I want to be a clothes designer or a photographer when I get older.
My favorite colour is green by a crumb (pink is coming close) & I realy enjoy sport. I want to be in almost all…ll the sports teams + I’m doing realy well in flipperball & incase you don’t know what flipperball is it’s a kids version of water polo.

Hi, I’m Svetlana. I’m from Room 18. I live with Mama and Papa. I’ve been to Russia with my parents to see my grandparents. I had fun there. Russia is very nice and I liked the snow. I love doing Russian dance and playing the recorder. I have learnt to play my favourite recorder tunes on the piano. This year I am learning recorder and guitar. I am learning Devchonka - a Russian dance. My teacher is Ukrainian - it is near Russia. I like dancing so much.

nina has the cutest kittens ever there names are…
Bluebell because it openened its eyes first and they were blue, wagamamma for no reason, Jason cause its my brothers name and its the only boy, Nana prononced Narna cause its named after me (Nina), Moe because when they were all feeding Moe poped up and he had sort of a mohork , Monkey cause its a really good climber and because when u hold Monkey by the scruff of the neack it scunches up like a monkey, Yogurt cause its my brothers friends nickname and Lulu cause its named after my brothers friend and the mums nickname is geoff yes thats a wierd name 4 a girl!
margaret-rae has really long hair and its golden brown with strikes of blonde.

I was born in New Zealand. My parents came from China 11 years ago, my grandma and grandpa live in Beijing, so we offen visit them during the holidays.

It is important to say why you are saying these things. It is great that you liked Kayla’s post but what exactly was it that you were refering to? What did you like exactly? Did you have questions you wanted to ask?
Make your posts clear and detailed. Then other readers can understand what you are saying with more clarity.

Wonder if you would also like to link with my class in Tasmania, Australia? We are a grade 6/7 class which has only been blogging since February this year. We have a class blog but as students show keenness and internet savvy, they can also negotiate having their own blog.

My family thinks culture is to do with where you come from and where your parents come from. We think it is also to do with your religions and beliefs.
You usually follow your parents traditions because that is what you are brought up learning about.
I am being brought up with Christianity in my life and my parents are Christian so you can see how it works.
I bet that children with Hindu or Muslim parents (just for an example) are brought up learning about the Hindu or Muslim religions and beliefs because of their parents.
So it basically comes down to it’s how we do things differently in different ways.
